Prior to maternity, she worked as a qualified private client stockbroker, responsible for the management and review of advisory client and trust portfolios, dealing primarily in UK equities (including investment trusts), gilts and bonds.  Her experience of international banking and investment management gained in Bermuda resulted in a broader understanding of different approaches to business and a glimpse of the future for the structure of the financial markets.  Together with a head start in IT communications, this provided the grounding for the subsequent project management of innovative IT solutions for a firm of stockbrokers.
